CCBC hosted an intimate luncheon for Ian Burchett, Canadian Consul General in Hong Kong and Macao at Gowlings’s Montreal on June 18. Consul General Burchett has served abroad in New York City, Beijing and Washington D.C in various capacities. He further advanced Canadian trade and economic interests in the Gulf States, China, Taiwan and South Korea. In 2009, he received the Canadian Public Service Award of Excellence for support to the Government of Canada’s response to the 9/11 and other consular emergencies.
Attendees participated in the round table discussion about Canadian business development in Hong Kong and its role as a platform to China. Mr. Burchett shared key trends and opportunities in Hong Kong. Guests also enjoyed his in-depth analysis of the evolution of Hong Kong’s political scene.
CCBC would like to warmly thank event sponsor Orangefield ICS and event host Gowlings for their continuous support.
