June 14, 2012 – The Canada China Business Council is accepting nominations for its 2012 Business Excellence Awards. These awards celebrate the important contributions that Canadian and Chinese companies make in advancing Canada’s bilateral relationship with China. Through innovation and leadership, Canadian and Chinese firms have become driving forces in the global economy, and in each other’s countries.
Nominations for the Business Excellence Awards are open until September 10, 2012, and recognize outstanding companies in the following categories:
Outstanding SME
The award will be given to an enterprise that best exemplifies the innovative inclusion of China in the company’s growth and its overall strategies. The successful implementation of such initiative has significantly improved the firm’s competitive edge and financial performance.
Member of the Year
This award will be presented to a CCBC member firm that has a successful, high profile project within the last 24 months. The company undertook bold new ventures resulting in commercial success and clearly distinguished itself from its competitors.
Education Excellence
This award will be presented to a CCBC member organization in the education sector (secondary school, college, university or other), that demonstrates outstanding achievement in delivering success including, but not limited to, research partnerships, recruitment, student/faculty exchanges, alumni relations, institution linkages, executive training, and provision of Canadian curricula.
Investment in Canada
This award will be presented to a CCBC member organization that has demonstrated ingenuity, success, leadership, and commitment in an investment in Canada, contributing to the Canadian economy and to its Chinese parent company’s global strategy.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony during CCBC’s Annual General Meeting in the fall, in the presence of key business executives, and senior government and business leaders from Canada and China.
